Interviewing Richard with Mike
Anything you do has to attract your target audience.
Know what your doing before you do something so your sure it’s going to work
Research into everything you do
Producers get half of the money and the rest goes to the artist/actor
Every time a film plays the actor/actress gets payed an amount of money each time.
If making a CD, the front cover needs to be eye catching. Use different colours and images to make it look better.
I tunes plus is the new I tunes where you can download the videos as well.
Downloading music from the internet is not bad because it’s a quicker and more modern way.
Artists should understand that people are always downloading from the internet so they should concentrate on that more, rather than worrying why people are not buying there CD’s.
Plan out what your going to do before making the real thing
If the credits are on the CD then it shows who produced the music and who gets money.
Get ideas from other sites then put them together.
Most things in the media business are similar.
You work from something small up to something bigger
Final design for festival
I will put a map on the back with directions and different spaces for people going to the festival. Also I will put the website and numbers so people can find out more information if they want to. The back of the flyer is still important like the front and I will still use effective colours but I am not going to have a picture on the back it will just be the logo. I will put the different instructions and the artists on the back.
On the front I will have my pictures with how much the tickets are and the amount of people. I will make the colours and pictures stand out on the front more than on the back because it’s the first thing their going to see. On the front I am designing a plane with the title and the name of my festival attached. Then I am having grass at the bottom with balloons in the background and also tents. Also I will have a stage as the main background picture. I will include the dates in the front cover aswell.
I was going to have 4 different parts of my flyer but I figured it was too much information. If people want to find out more then they can go on the website. You can also fold the paper so it’s not too big.

NCFE Music Technology. Unit 1 assessment MIKE
NCFE-Music Technology- Unit 1 Assessment
1.6 How do you save your data appropriately? When saving the work you have last done, you go to file then save and write in what you want to save it as. Or the next time you go into Logic 8 the previous work you have done will come up.
1.9 Set up a track? when you want to set up a track you go to global tracks and press the cross to create a new track and put in the number of how many tracks you want to make.
1.10 Assign a sound to the track? To put a sound onto your track you need to create a track first and then put in the instrument you want. The instruments are on the right hand side and you just click on the one you want.
1.11 Record a MIDI sequence? A MIDI sequence is when you want to record the work that you have done. You record it on the piano roll. You can either do it on a keyboard or the keyboard on the computer.
1.12 Evaluate the quality of the recorded sequence and amend where appropriate? When you have recorded what you want, you need to edit the notes and put them in the right places. You can press record then listen over everything you have done then change it on the piano roll.
1.13 How do you quantize a track? You have to make sure the note is in the correct place and box so that the note fits in well with the sequence.
1.14 How do you set up and record extra tracks? you go onto global tracks in the left hand corner and add in how many tracks you want. Then when you want to record your track you go to the transporter and press record.
1.15 How do you evaluate final recordings? Final recordings is when you listen to everything and if you want to change anything you just click back on the piano roll and make changes then listen back over it to make it perfect.
1.17 How do you move, copy and paste, erase and use other tools in the tool box? You can move the notes on the piano roll by clicking then moving it to where you want. To copy and paste you highlight the parts you want to copy then press control and right click then put it to where you want the notes to be. To erase you click on the note then press delete or you can double click it. The tool box is the arrow or the pencil and it has different tools on. The ones that I have mostly used is the pencil because it’s what you put on the piano roll to make your notes.
1.18 How do you use automation? Automation is when it is in control of the sounds. You can do it on the Logic 8 on the bottom right hand corner to adjust the volume or you can do it on your keyboard. Also the transporter bar controls the sounds and most things like recording.
1.19 How do you evaluate an end product? Its when everything is finished and you say what you did and how you did it. You explain what tools and sounds you used. Also talk about how many tracks you used. If there is anything you would change what would it be?

project work on song writing and recording engineers
When finding more information on these jobs I will compare them and talk about their differences and how much they get played. In the music industry there are a lot of jobs but song writing and recording engineers are both two popular jobs in the music industry. The internet is the most useful because it gives you the most important information, but also books and leaflets are helpful.
Song writing is not difficult to find important information, but on the other hand recording engineers do not have as much information. Therefore I will need to look into other resources. Before choosing just song writing and recording engineers I researched and looked into other jobs in the music industry but decided to do them because it was something I could relate to and was interested in rather than the others.
I thought that the two jobs I chose wouldn’t be difficult to find information on but I will know by the end of this project by seeing how much research I carry out. All of this research I am carrying out now will hopefully give me more of an idea for what I want to do in the future. Doing this project will also improve my research skills and make me understand how to find the important parts when researching.
