Unit 4 history of Batman worksheet Record

1) The first Batman was made in 1989.

2) The movie was created in 1989. It was created in Pinewoods studios from October 1988 to January 1989.

3) The film was directed by a man called Tim Burton who also produced it aswell. The writers of the film are Bob Kane and Sam Ham.

4) The music was produced by Danny Elfmans. It was recorded and mixed by Shawn Murphy.

5) As a child, Bruce Wayne (Keaton) saw his parents killed by a young criminal. He vows to avenge their deaths in a lifelong battle against crime as the disguise of Batman while concealing his secret identity, working in the Wayne Enterprises. Years later, Gotham is under control by crime boss Carl Grissom (Palance). Despite the best efforts of newly-elected district attorney Harvey Dent and police commissioner James Gordon, the police department remains corrupted. Reporter Alexander Knox (Wuhl) and photo-journalist Vicki Vale (Basinger) begin investigating the rumors of a shadowy vigilante figure dressed as a bat who has been terrifying criminals throughout the city.

6)An underscore is defined as a piece of background music. It changes the mood and the situation.

7) Editing is the process of preparing language, images, sound, video, or film through correction, condensation, organization etc. In a film crew there are two kinds of best boy, best boy electric and best boy grip. They are assistants. An editor checks and distributes everything to make sure it is correct. They also do the plot, score, sound and graphics. They have a lot to do with the film and make a big effect on it. The gaffer is the head electrician. This means that they are in charge of all the lighting personnel. The best boy is a gaffer's assistant.

8)In my batman introduction at the start it is slow and there is a drum beat then it goes onto my motif and then my tune comes in. The introduction is slow the whole way through but with a drum beat in the background and then when the tune is nearly finished the drum beat stops. I still need to make the tune better and do more of it and change some of the notes around and then i am going to repeat it.

When doing my Batman Introduction on logic pro I used different instruments do get the effect I wanted. When doing this I changed the tracks a lot of times if I thought they didn't sound right with the rest of the motif. I mainly used strings in my introduction because it sounded right with everything else. Each track I used a different sound so it didn't all sound the same and boring. I wanted my introduction to begin slow and then get faster so I used the drum beats and it makes you picture the scene and it sounds effective. When I next do it I am going to keep working on it to make it better and use different instruments. My introduction is a slow and deep sound because Batman is a mystery character so thats why I used the instruments that I did.
