The skills you need in song writing is to be involved in music. Some believe songwriting is therapy. Don't limit yourself to one type of music. Artists often write their own songs and others write for record companies. People write for performers.
The money they earn is around about $100,000.Songwriting is not an essential part of becoming a singer but well recommended for those who enjoy a challenge. Anyone can write lyrics.
Sound engineers
Sound engineers who work independently get paid on a per project basis - this can be a one night deal, or they may go on the road and do sound for a whole tour. Engineers who work with a particular venue exclusively are likely to receive an hourly wage. To succeed as a modern sound engineer, you’ll need recording experience on high end studio equipment. You’ll also need to know your way around a live stage set-up including microphones, mixer, monitoring and front of house PA. And of course you will need the business acumen to spot opportunities and negotiate rights, contracts and fees. Only one course offers you this range of hands-on experience.
Lighting engineers
A lighting engineer working in theatre can expect to earn around £15,000 - £30,000 a year depending on experience. There are a few qualifications that are needed but it doesn't mean if you don't have a lot of qualifications that you're not going to get anywhere in lighting design. The skills you need in this type of business is to be good at working as a team, creative vision, able to follow instructions quickly, good manual and mathematical work, good with heights, communication skills and good fitness.
